Turner Meeting House - SOLD

The Turner Meeting House is a lovely little 19th century country church typical to the Maritime Provinces. The body of the building measures 30' by 27'. The exterior walls are clapboard sided standing 12' tall with three 4 over 4 windows equally spaced along both 30' sides.

The hand hewn rafters rise another 10' to give an overall building height of 23'. The interior of the church remains intact including the 7" to 14" wide softwood plank flooring. Pews may also be available.

Structural Details:

Interior Finish:

The original plaster interior was covered with a 2 ¼" v-grooved tongue and groove softwood, clear finished. This softwood was applied to both the walls and ceiling. The v-grove is available for use as trim, wainscott, etc. if required. The ceiling also features a 36" softwood medallion in the center of the room. The finish floor is 7 to 14" wide softwood plank over a subfloor of 12 to 16" wide softwood plank. The 6 windows are 4 over 4 ‘s, 27" wide by 68" high. Three of the windows are in good shape, 3 would require restoration. The sidewalls stand 11’ 4’ from finish floor to finish ceiling. Pews, 25 in total, are available at an additional cost.

Roof
The hand-hewn rafters and ceiling joists are spaced 4’ on center, totaling 8 sets including gable ends. There are no collar ties or tie rods. The attic is 10’ 2" from the top of the ceiling joists to the underside of the roof sheathing. The roof sheathing is not included in the package.
Floor:
The floor structure consists of rough hewn joists app. 42" on center with 7 by 7" sills. The floor structure is available in the package, though may require upgrading.
Exterior:
Exterior finish is painted clapboards with 4 ½" exposure to the weather. Corner boards are 5 ½"
