CH-21 - Steeple Point Church - c. 1912
Church History:
Built on a the edge of a harbour in northern Nova Scotia, the wonderful and stoic Steeple Point was the third church built on the original site replacing previous churches built in 1818 and 1883. The foundation was laid and the wood sills anchored in 1911 and on February 11, 1912 the church was officially opened by the first archdeacon of Cape Breton.
Steeple Point's cross was installed in 1938.
Steeple Point was deconsecrated on Sept. 16, 2006.

Ceiling joists - 2" x 6" @ 30" o.c. at 18'-8" from finish floor
Metal tie rod - 3 @ approx. 8' o.c. at 13'-3" from finish floor
Exterior Finish:
Painted wood shingles, exposure 4" to weather (under aluminum siding - to be removed)
Interior Finish:
6 1/2" w. double-beaded 43" high painted wainscoting
Floors:
Altar - 1 1/2" w. t&g birch/maple
Main Structure - 3 1/2" w. painted t&g softwood
Windows:
Gothic side windows - 9 total at 24" wide x 80" tall, clear wavy glass
Gothic altar window - 4'-8" w x 8'-10" h (storm window only)

14 pews available (1/2 anchored on side wall, or 7 complete freestanding)
Doors:
Interior double doors - (26"x 80" each) 4-panel painted
